I'm still not sure what I think - I guess it's comforting in some way, that it turns out the whips really didn't know what was happening - although maybe worrying that I have become so cynical about politicians. It saddens me that with it so close, the government won by making it a test of loyalty - it's clear that the majority of MPs disagreed with it. Labour already seems to be doing its best to kill democracy, so I have no problem in hoping the Lords overturn it.... # |
